I have already asked my questions and shared my responces with another person but if anybody hasn't done that yet I would be willing to answer any that you have.
Interview Questions for Ethnography?

No troubles yet... it is so bittersweet not having a set guideline. I'm so used to always having exactly what I need or want to write/obtain from research in front of me and this enthnography seems so unscripted that I have no idea if what I'm doing is correct.
One question I would like to know from anyone is how have you been able to relate TLA and the online forum to other experiences in your life? Have you found another form of "TLA" that is similar? This could include certain conversations or dialogues you have participated in whether or not they were for school?
I know where you're coming from. I'm on page three right now but once I paste the answers to my questions I should have four with no problem. I just don't want it to seem like I'm rambeling on.
Ya Cassie, at least I'm trying to. I am starting to relate the tactics people use in TLA to discussions I start overhearing at coffee shops. How people argue, use silence, love tohear themselves speak, etc. to try and gain an "upper hand." I don't know if that answers your question though.
i am really struggling to condense what is supposed to be a 10 page paper into 4 pages...it is hard to write a solid draft when you know you are going to have to go back and at least double in length what you have already written, it slike a wanna leave big gaps in places so its easier to fill it all in later
I just answered the interview questions in a different thread, so if anyone is looking for those answers mine are posted.
And I hear your frustration Kate, I think I'm going to leave out one of my 2 interviews for sure, that should add some bulk.
Yes Adam thank you.
oooh thanks kim
I find myself becoming redundant with ten pages about dialogue on the forum. My draft is almost done, but I feel as if I need to address all sorts of different issues, having a list of sections would be helpful, I agree about that, because the sheet that we have to run off of is strangely ambiguous in its wording I find. I know that Carmen said this course isn't about structure but I could use some advice on how to further meet those standards... WRITING CENTER PARTY!

I strongly agree with that. I fail to see how we're supposed to write a ten page paper with such ambigious instructions. Teachers love to say that an assignment is open and not structered, but that's never really true. There are specific requirements to do well on the paper and specific ways we can write the paper, but we're not told them.
I have the same problem with a 7 page paper in another class that's due next Tuesday.

Actually, Matt, I don't think I said the course "isn't about structure"' at least what I intended for you to hear and what this ethnography assignment asks you to do is *find* your structure based on what you have to say. Puts more responsibility on you, I know, but you'll be a better writer (or that's the hope) because of it.
And to everyone: Have you taken a look at the sample ethnographies on electronic course reserve per my recommendation on Blackboard? If not, I urge you to take a gander as there are they will give you some options for how to organize your piece.

Which ones on reserve are the sample ethnographies?
