Threads of this nature definitely call out all the worst ignorance at Western.

I remember eating at a restuarant in Spokane, across from the convention center while a furry convention was going on, and some people were being arrested for throwing broken bottles at the convention goers. I'm not a furry myself, but pure redneck insidious ignorance pisses me off. If we can't even allow two people of the same gender to marry, talking about secret fetishes such as this is impossible.

Its posts like this that almost make me feel like the actions by the government in 1984 are legitimate, serious or not.

Which actions, specifically?

Why should I bother supporting human rights and the meaning of freedom and justice for all when there are obviously people who are working to destroy it? Why don't I become president, get rid of everyone's privacy. and force people to marry and sleep with people of their own skin, eye, and hair color? With the way people use their freedom, it doesn't really seem as if they deserve it. Of course, this is me in my most negative state.

Are you infering that people who claim themselves as furries are like the dog? Are they going to come after your children and hurt them? Furries are not rapists. They are keeping their sexual behavior to themselves. Just because you don't like it doesn't mean you can interfere with it. Their lifestyles are not causing you pain. Just because you don't like it and want to change it, doesn't mean you can. That's what personal freedom is all about.

And if you want to use your story as an example, look at yourself in the father's shoes holding the gun. You see a dog in the next yard minding its own business. Your son runs toward you because he is scared of the dog because its different than dogs he's seen before, but the dog isn't running after him. Of course, when you tell the story after you shoot it, you'll say it was to make it seem like it was affecting you and your son when it wasn't doing anything to you, it was just staying in its own yard. The only reason you shot it was because when you and your son looked at it, neither of you liked it.

That is what you are doing.

People I honestly think he's/she's trolling us big time. Don't respond to any more posts from this person...you'll just be egging them on.

My story is better than your hypothetical for the following reasons:

1. It was factual.
2. It was applicable.

I am suggesting that it is appropriate to ostracize or harangue people who are a threat to society; I can't think of a group that fits under that broad penumbra more directly than - again - people who dress up like animals to fuck each other.  Let's pause for a moment to consider the deeply rooted psychological damage that must inspire this sort of behavior.  This is not something that we should tolerate or encourage in our midst, because it is damaging and without redeeming qualities.

Personal freedom does not exist to protect you from the encroachment of others, it exists to allow you to live in peace.  Furrdyom is a violation of that peace, and a violation of common sense.  And, often, foxes.

Moving back towards your hypothetical situation, I would like to reiterate that it's completely irrelevant, and broken on several levels.  The idea behind the story was that it illustrates the necessity of violent action in certain circumstances.  I'm not saying we need to kill furries, I'm just saying we need to cure them.

I have a delicious idea.  Let's all just dress up tonight (my place) like animals (I call giraffe) and fuck until the break of dawn!  That way we can forget about this silly little forum tiff and realize wholeheartedly that there are ENDLESS benefits to getting off when you're in animal skin, making grrrr grrrrrrr GRRWWWAAAHH sounds (can someone enlighen me on what sound I should make as a giraffe?  I want to make sure I am true to the practice).

Might want to rethink the whole giraffe thing Ranae.  Their mating ritual is that the male takes a big mouthful of the female's pee to see if he likes her or not before he gets down to business. 

Perhaps that consideration has been taken into account, hence the delicious idea? It seems doubtful if you also think like me, but you never really know.
