talking in the computer lab

I am going to scream right now.

I am sitting in a computer lab in the library trying to work on a paper. There are some groups of people quietly talking. And then these two girls came in and sat right next to me and are continuing a conversation. One girl is politely talking in a quiet voice, and the other girl is talking loud enough for everyone in the room to hear her! Not only that but she is one of those girls that says "like" in every sentence, and I actually heard her say "I am one of those persons who..." seriously! how did you get into college? Anyways... so I even NICELY asked her to be quieter and she rolled her eyes at me and said "fine." Neither of these girls are even using a computer, and they have been now sitting there for 20 minutes.

If you go into the computer lab during DEAD WEEK and your going to talk, then you should have a quiet conversation, and you should be using a computer. If you want to have a conversation go somewhere else! To the girls who are still sitting next to me - SHUT UP!!!!

I would like to add that

I would like to add that I am in the computer lab for people who are editing videos - and need to be able to listen to their videos on headphones.

You need to be more assertive.

They are being rude and they need to know it (they probably already do.)

Seriously, if she didn't listen the first time, repeat yourself, VERY strongly and emphatically.
Give the "don't mess with me" look. Educate her as to WHY she is being distracting.

It can be hard at first to summon up the nerve but I really get a kick out of telling obnoxious
people to shut the hell up.

Instead of complaining about it on a forum stand up and demand that they leave or shut the fuck up, you asked nicely, they ignored you. If you're really timid and afraid that these inconsiderate jerks will give you a hard time then just realize that everyone around you is trying to study too, and the chances of you being the only one in the area feeling like this is minimal.
