My parents are coming up here for my brother's graduation and I need to make dinner reservations for us all. I am broke, and don't have the opportunity to go out often; pretty much I have no idea where the bomb places are located. Please help me. Around $15-$20 per person is a good price range, and the cuisines of choice would either be Italian, Mexican, or somewhere eclectic.

I freakin love La Fiamma Woodfire Pizza in downtown Bham. Its on Railroad and its absolutely amazing. Their pizzas are fantastic and they have pastas and salads too that are great. Below your price range and delicious to boot.
Mambo Italiano in fairhaven is really good, and I enjoy the atmosphere alot!
is cheap but good mexican up in ferndale... Also, the indian place next to the old circuit city is actually decent, if you like spicy indian food.
You should try Nona Rosa's downtown. Its a small Italian/Sicilian place downtown with a nice atmosphere. I ate there once and had the lemon pork skewer, it was delicious! Eggplant parmesan was really good too!
I love Mambo Italiano in Fairhaven. Fairhaven is always a good place to take the 'rents. Mambo is small and kind of has that hole in the wall feel, but its very very nice and clean, its not like a greasy fastfood italian. I really like, and that's where I have taken my parents. If you are looking for something more lively, Boundary Bay is always fun, but seeing how it is graduation weekend, that place is going to be PACKED! Which would be entertaining, but REALLY loud, so if you want to have good conversation, I would stay away from that.
Here are some of my favorite places.
Mi Mexico - The best mexican resturant i've ever been too, and I love mexican. It's located on meridian across from the mall.
Olive Garden - on meridian down the way on the right hand side.
Applebees - on sunset
Bob's Burgers - on E. Holly and Railroad

I've been as well! Wonderful food and friendly service!
D'Anna's downtown is pretty good and not too pricey.

Seconding this. Go to D-Anna's, it's fantastic.
My favorite place is The Black Cat in fairhaven... SUPER good... SUPER cool atmosphere!!
Or The Cliff House is really good also. You can sit outside on the deck if it is nice and it overlooks the bay. If you go to the cliff house be sure to order the Whiskey Crab Soup... It is the best ever!!
Both of these places are around the $15-20 range for a plate and really really good!!!
Not Italian/ Mexican, but Kyoto Steakhouse on Samish is good if you like Japanese food. I've only ever gotten the sushi there (which is amazing) , but they also have a steakhouse thing on the other side of the restaurant with the whole fancy cooking at the table thing.
Bobs is also really good.
I agree, there is amazing mexican in ferndale. its called chiuahahas (probably didnt spell that right). this has the best mexican food ive ever had and ive been to mexico and lived in san diego. plates can be anywhere from 8-15 i would say, and it comes with endless chips and salsa of course. wonderful margaritas, and tequila shots at the end if you are of age. ferndale is only like a 15 minute freeway drive north by the way. i have their phone number in my phone actually (i get alot of to go orders) if you have any questions or need to make reservations- 3603845820
And then there is D'annas which is italian, which is wonderful. its on north state street. Comes with salad and amazing bread and plates are between 11-30 id say, but you can make it cheap. I went there the other day with a friend and we spend like 25 on the two of us combined. If you go before dinner its a couple dollars cheaper per plate too. (I think spaggetti w/ meat sauce or marinia goes from like 8.50 for lunch to 11.50 for dinner). call them and ask the exact hours that happens because i dont know. but do not leave d'annas without trying their tiramisu. oh my goodness i tried it for the first time there and havent ever found any as good since. i hope that helps! congrats to the graduate
D'Anna's butternut squash tortellini is bomb.
And I definitely second the eggplant parmesan from Nona Rosa's - they let you draw on the paper tabletops with twisty crayons also :)
Outstanding Mexican food. I love Chihuahuas in Ferndale too, which has a down-home fun family Mexican restaurant atmosphere, but Milagros food is amazing (although not as cheap as Chihuahuas!)

I think Busara down in Sehome Village is actually really good. It does fall into the eclectic side of things I think, and fits in your price range I think. But if thats not really for you, there are a bunch of good places down in Fairhaven. :) hope this helps!
