I've been listening to far too much Daft Punk lately. And "Something About Us" [from Discovery] has been stuck in my head. And I can't get the idea out of my head of how damn fun it would be to perform a cover of it. Of course, it would be a waste to get a few good musicians together and just learn one song, so maybe some people wanna get together and learn that, and maybe some other stuff as well (Rick Astley's "Never Gonna Give You Up"????)? I play guitar and can sing decently sometimes (I'm also a percussion [music ed] major, so I like to play auxilliary percussion [shaker, bongo, etc :D]). Probably looking for... drums, bass, keys, another guitarist maybe, and/or vocalist. Someone who could double-task and sing and play something else mayhaps.
I don't know if I'll actually hold through on this idea, but I think it would be really fun. Maybe we can start writing stuff and get uber-famous out of this one encounter. Maybe we'll play through the song once and never talk to each other again. Who knows! But let's play some funky music!
You can never listen to too much Daft Punk. Discovery and Homework are a couple of my favorite albums to listen to while commuting from Bellingham to Seattle.
