Found that my experience on Viking Village isn't always consistent. This is usually due to features being added. Sometimes things break. Probably due to drupal upgrade difficulties, buggy plugins, browser/OS specific reasons.

Anyway... In an effort to cut down on multiple repeat topics being created saying the same thing, it would be best to have a central area where bugs be reported so Andy Peterson can see them so they can be addressed.

Bug reports are only useful when you give the right information. Usually too much is better than not enough, but use common sense when giving details.

DO NOT DO THIS:

Quote:

Subject: <no subject>

Body: I can't post a reply in a thread. Why?

Notice how this has no information at all? This post is just garbage.

Using the recent double thread view as example, a useful report could look like this:

Quote:

Subject: Double threads under "What's Happening"

Body: When I log in, all the threads are displayed twice in the main portal, however this isn't happening when I'm logged out.

Browser: Firefox 3.5
Operating system: Linux (Ubuntu)
Reproducable?, if so, how?: Always. You just need to log in to see it.

Also, screenshots are great

Also, screenshots are great if you can give one.

Imageshack and tinypic are sites you can use to upload a screenshot. Just attach the link to the post.

What's happening - Latest tab

Topics aren't being sorted by the latest reply. Tested this on Firefox, IE8 and Safari.

It happens only when you are logged in.

When you are logged out, it is sorted correctly, except for the Moderator search thread (which isn't clearly marked that it is stickied, just a suggestion)

EDIT:

Sorting correctly now.

This is really helpful!  You

This is really helpful!  You can also just shoot off a pm to me, if that is easier -- but definitely, if you something isn't working they way you think it should, let me know.

I don't know what was up with the sort problem.  Very odd.  Let me know if you see that again.

Timestamps

Timestamps show the last edit, not the time of the original post.  Leads to things like this.  I've confirmed this on a number of my posts throughout the forum.

Can't slap these problems away with your slapchop.

Threads get started with lots of garbage in the OP (has happened more than once).

Yes, this is a paste from word problem -- I just changed this so that anyone pasting something is forced to paste into a plain text window which will strip out the formatting.

Technology forum isn't included in the "latest" module on the front page.

Viking Village Advice (Three pages)

There are three pages for threads in "Viking Village Advice" despite there only actually being two more threads than can fit on one page.  That is, page three is completely empty/blank.

That's Odd -- I can't replicate this -- I only see two.  Can you tell me what browser / OS you are using?

Firefox 3.5.4 and XP Pro (x86).  It's also only when I'm logged in; when I'm logged out it looks normal.

Same experience on Chrome 2.0.172.39 (internal version) and Opera 10.0

Edit: If you're for some reason wondering what it looks like: http://img140.imageshack.us/img140/9397/threepages.png
