Hi, I'm Jo. I'm a sophomore, I live off-campus, and I'm feeling pretty lonely. I have friends, but I'm a little shy about making them into a close-knit group like I always had growing up. I've tried going to clubs and other on-campus activities, but it's still difficult to make a bond with someone.

I'm sure I'm not the only person who feels this way. Reply if you're looking for a buddy to hang out with on the weekend, go kayaking, hiking, paint your room, dye your dog purple, taste test western family verses brand name foods, go for a bike ride, eat chocolate until you want to die, play with a gerbil, make fun of highschoolers at the mall, watch an old movie, or talk.

Looking forward to hearing from... somebody.

I know you've said you've been to some clubs, but you should check out Western's Women in the Woods. You sound out-doorsy and it seems like a cool group of people (I just went to their meeting for the first time this week.) You can find the group on facebook, if you're into that.

Hey Jo, I'm Karl. I'm a junior, and I live off-campus too. I am not feeling particularly lonely or nything, but I'm always down to meet new people. I do miss having a friend to go hiking with or go on a bike ride though. I don't know tht I'd want a purple dog (maybe tiger stripe camo?), and I can't paint my room (curse you Apex!), but the rest of it sounds pretty cool. Anyways, hit me up sometime if you'd like to hang out or something.

Hey Jo, I'm glad I'm not the only one who feels that way. I'm a Sophomore and I still find it difficult to establish new friendships and get close to people around here. I think it's because a lot of people come to school from Seattle and Belvue with their group of friends and cliques already established so for us people that come from distant towns we're sort of on our own. I can tell you that I'm shy as well and it's hard for me too. All of those things you listed actually sound...fun haha.

Hi Jo,

I know exactly how you feel! I am pretty good at meeting people but I am not sure how to actually go from an aquaitance to a friendship. All of your ideas sound like a lot of fun and very close to how I spend my free time haha. I think it is really cool you started this thread and if you do ever want to hang out let me know!

Hey Jo, It sounds like you like to be outside, and sometimes do crazy things...Do you snowboard? If you do we should hit the mountain this winter for sure.
