I'm a vegan, but I'm a fatty vegan. I thrive on pizzas with fake sausage and veganrella, saucy tofu dishes, and candy. I'm excited that there's a vegan restaurant in Bellingham but I hate salads and don't really care of my vegetables are organic or not. Am I going to be dissapointed by Bloom? I like my food on the hearty side. I also want to know what kind of vegetables they might serve other than salad. I dig most non-leaf vegetables
Has ANYONE gone to bloom?

My roommate works at bloom as a cook and dishwasher she says its amazing they have tons of dishes and a super chill atomsphere. lots of books couches games places for live music. it has a great feel and great food. its more than a restruant its a place to chill. they are open till 2am or later too incase you are out late.
This sounds awesome, I gotta go sometime soon.
My girlfriend is vegan, so naturally we started going as soon as they opened. I'm not vegan, or even vegetarian for that matter, but I really enjoy it there. The atmosphere is really laid back and relaxing. The food is unique and really good in my opinion, and that's coming from a carnivore. I'm working on trying all of the menu items, but they keep adding a few things at a time so I'm not quite there yet. Since they're open until 2 am on Friday's and Saturday's, we've made it a Friday night routine to head down there and hang out for awhile. We've been able to talk to the owner each time we've been there, and he's a really cool guy. The last time we were there a guy came in to play some acoustic guitar, and some random dude joined him on a bongo drum...it was actually really entertaining.
All in all it's a great place, I'd recommend it!
Where is this place at?? Sounds yummy, especially with reccomendations from a meateater!!
Maybe all you veggies out there would want to share your college pocket-book friendly, ez recipes? I would love that.

I guess I didn't really answer your question in my last post!
You might actually be disappointed. They don't use any meat or cheese substitutes and everything seems very healthy (I think that's kind of their goal). Having said that, I'd at least go try it. They keep adding new items so maybe they'll come up with something that you like. Also, try suggesting things to the owner when you're there. He seems really open to suggestions and new ideas. The first time we went they tried a new sun-dried tomato hummus on us (just to get our opinion) and now it's actually a menu item.

It's on Cornwall, where Kendrick's used to be.

A really good way to find easy vegetarian recipes is StumbleUpon, a toolbar that searches the internet for your interests every tie you click it, so just be sure to include vegetarianism. Another awesome site with great recipes is Food Gawker.

This is a pretty good review. Here is an interview with the owner saying he won't serve tofu or fake meats, though, since it kind of defeats the purpose. I'm a vegetarian who likes comefort food too, but, I'll still give it a shot.
