Hi, I've been at Western 7 years as the Executive Director of University Planning and Budgeting.  Before WWU, I was in Eugene, Oregon, on the University of Oregon campus, working for the Oregon University System on -- what else -- operating budgets; and before that, in Santa Fe, working for the NM State Legislature and the Governor of NM -- all in all, nearly 20 years in budgeting!  My graduate degree from the University of Chicago is in comparative literature with a focus in Ancient Greek Literature.  And, yes, studying Ancient Greek has everything to do with understanding budgets.  UPB prepares and submits the biennial operating budget request to Olympia; we publish the annual budget for WWU, aka "the Green Book"; and we produce WWU's annual fees and rates book, among many other tasks. We are mostly always busy in the budget office -- and especially busy right now -- but welcome your questions, and hope you will visit our website.    Paula
