I'm a freshman from Austin, Texas. No, I don't have a southern accent except for when I say certain words a certain way. I'm a bit shy and therefore a little slow with making friends, even though it's something I love to do. I live in BT and plan on majoring in Creative Writing--fiction and books are a big part of me. Yes, I like Twilight, so sue me. But I've liked Twilight since before it was a big deal. I also have a special place in my heart for Harry Potter and Pirates of the Caribbean. I love art and music besides my books and thoroughly enjoy just hanging out.
I'm a Super Senior majoring in Kinesiology, minoring in Psychology. With any luck, I'll finally graduate Spring of 2010.
I'm very shy, so if you see a brown-haired girl reading a book by herself at lunch at the VU, that's probably me. Despite having been up here in the 'Ham for 3 years now, I don't really have any friends up here because I keep to myself, work most evenings, and spend what free time I have down in Seattle with my boyfriend. On the one hand, it's kind of lonely, but on the other hand I don't get sick very often because I'm not in contact with many people. :P
I like Castle, Firefly, House, and MythBusters. I play World of Warcraft when my homework load allows me to, and participate in National Novel Writing Month every year with varying success rates. I usually read a book a week if I can; mostly sci-fi or fantasy but nonfiction often makes an appearance. Favorite authors include Robert A Heinlein, Isaac Asimov, Patrick Rothfuss, Brandon Sanderson, Michael Pollan, Spider Robinson, and Naomi Novick, among many others.
I always have a D20 in my purse. This may say more about me than the entire rest of the profile.
My name is Rhys.
I like creating.
I like pushing buttons, one in particular.
Finding visual solutions is my niche.
Tell me your story, then let me tell your story.
I transfered here as a junior from Edmonds Community College in Lynnwood, WA. This is my first year and so far I really like the school and my classes. I live a couple min off campus in a house on Indian. My time gets filled longboarding, playing guitar, camping, hiking, playing video games, and trying to find a way to pay my ridiculous rent.
I wanted to get on this forum to offer guitar lessons to anyone for basically a trade. If you have something you can offer that you think I could use, send me a PM and maybe we can set something up. Money is always welcome of course, but I figured it would be an interesting experiment to try some sort of barter system and just see what happens. I have been playing for almost 10 years and I have been giving lessons for 2 and I know plenty of different styles. I'm open to teaching people with any level of experience so please, don't worry that you're not "good enough", I'm not going to judge you.
As I side note I'm also trying to jam with anyone out there that wants to play some good music and hopefully get a band together. Drummers especially.
I'm a Junior transfer student from Peninsula College in Port Angeles. This is my first year here and so far it's not as hard as I thought. I'm going to major in Marketing, probably. I live off campus with my brother who is a freshman. When I'm not stressing over exams I enjoy working on my car. I believe that if you own a car you should know how to work on it yourself. By doing the work yourself you become more attatched to the car and it becomes part of who you are.
Understand that friends come and go, but for the precious few you should hold on. Work hard to bridge the gaps in geography and lifestyle because the older you get, the more you need the people you knew when you were young .
I'm a twenty year old gal who loves cooking, reading, houseplants, and tea. I enjoy volunteering and traveling. I'm also a huge nerd! :D
i am a freshman at western and i live in fairhave. i love it so much up here, its ridiculous. i want to major in human services and minor in psychology, it would also be fun to have a minor in gender studies.
im from the greater tacoma area. i am one of the few people in my immediate and extended family to go to college.
My name is Jessie, I'm 19 and a sophomore at WWU. I lived on the ridge last year and as much fun as I had meeting new people, I couldn't be happier to be out of the dorms. My basic view of Bham is that I really like Western and Fairhaven but I'm not a huge fan of Bellingham itself. I plan on finishing my bachelor's in four years (or less) and getting the heck outta here.
Religion is personal, though I enjoy conversations about it. Philosophy is love of knowledge, and I am lead by this passion. Politics is a necessary process, though some is unintelligible. Language is everything, for we are nothing without it.
I'm outgoing when I'm with my friends and family but I'm definitely an introvert around people I don't know... But I'd love to meet new people. Talk to me if you wanna know more or add me on Facebook.
What can I say that my user name hasn't already told you? Well, I'm your average sarcastic middle class white male. I am Christian and really Republican. I realize that every student at Western now has something against me. Bring it.
Hey! I'm a freshmen here at WWU and I'm excited about getting involved in the community. I love doing Irish Step, if you do it too you should definitely contact me! I tend to put social life/community work before school work, so hopefully I don't fall too far behind getting excited about being an active community member. I come from Seattle, but I went to a small high school so I don't know too many people up here so I'm definitely looking to expand my social network and make lots of friends this year.
I'm a freshman here at WWU. I'm looking to hopefully major in psychology. I'm in the Disney and the Harry Potter club and I want to join more fun ridiculous clubs such as those. I love my dormmates. They are hilarious. I love to dance even though I am not good at it whatsoever and I will sing at the top of my lungs even though I'm not good at that either. Message me! Even if you're a random person. I love talking to people. No joke! =]
Hi there I'm Blake! I enjoy such activites as: College, mod podgeing, baking pies, having naked dance parties, eating guacamole, working at the Canada house, climbing the arboretum, reading romance novels, walking in the rain listening to hip hop, riffling though value village, and philosophizing. If you wan't to know more give me a shout. I love new friends!
Hey, :) I am Marye, I am a freshman! Hahah. I came from Spokane, WA. It is pretty bitchin here, I am loving it! I just would like to meet some new friends, if you know what I am saying :))) Bha!
I'm a Web Developer at ResTek as I finish up my senior year at this wonderful institution. I'll be entering the "real-world" with an education in Spanish and Managment Information Systems, as well as a background in Social Justice.
My name is DJ. I just transferred to WWU this Fall quarter of 2009. I went to Centralia Community College where I got my AA. I intend on doing some sort of marketing management major, but right now I have no idea what's going on my head. I'm a fairly outgoing guy. I have pretty liberal political views regarding most things. I like to fish, I write poetry and post it online under an alias. I am the eldest of several siblings, I have 3 little brothers and 3 little sisters. I'm 21, I'm a Libra, I love pizza and TV. I party, I try to prioritize school work first, but have only been semi-successful at it. I don't talk anything like the style in which I'm writing this information. I grew up on classic rock music, I love 90s music and alt. rock as well as a little metal. Lately I must confess a couple rap songs have been taken into my music-collection. I don't smoke cigarettes. I'm 5'10" I weigh about 175 lbs. I'll have a conversation with just about anyone, but if you're a girl you've already made my priority list haha. I like smallville and true blood and like a bajillion other shows. I'm uncannily honest, if you really wanna know something, don't beat around the bush, I love people who are blunt and to the point, life is too short haha. I don't get uncomfortable very easily and don't hold grudges very long. Feel free to hit up my email or something sometime. mcmahod@students.wwu.edu
I'm in college to make friends as well as learn shit, so yeah....say hey or something at least.
Im a freshman living in Higginson.
I do magic tricks, I love steampunk, and I love making thins in general (Instructables.com/makezine.com)
I spend my free time coding and making things.
I'm currently planning a sweet Steampunk Colonel Mustard costume!
Hi! I am an eighteen year old freshman who is interested in double majoring in Biology and Creative Writing. A weird combination, I know but they are both subjects I have a lot of passion for! I was born in Scotland and lived in Belgium, Iceland, the Netherlands, Mongolia and England. This marks my first time living in America despite my citizenship. In my high school I used to be part of a choir, which is something I hope to continue due to my love for singing, dancing (badly) and the theatre. From time to time, I will also edit together the odd video depending on how much time I have on my hands. My goal for the future is to either become a medical technologist or a virologist with a specialty in proviruses. Now, if only math was simple....
Hello,
Currently a Woodring College, Master In Teaching graduate student with Secondary Ed. Alum WWU 2004 with a BA in History/Secondary Ed, Minor in Social Studies and Canadian American Studies. I'm retired from 20 years active service in the Marines, part time substitute teacher in the Skagit valley. Also, a part time overseas security and security training professional. The last four years I've gained heaps of experience in security, training and most importantly mentoring in the Middle East, Africa and Afghanistan. Eventually my aim is to be a full time positive male role model in a public or private school system teaching social studies at the secondary school level. This will be where I can put all my years of engaging and rapport build to good use by passing on real experiences about people and places in the context of social studies. Cheers!
Travelfiend / Dan
PS, I'm on a leave of absense now working in Afghanistan until mid-December 2009. I'd be happy to entertain any questions and would enjoy the process of exchanging information.
Im a new Transfer student from Bellevue. Currently living on campus at BT. Still in the process of meeting people.

Hello! I'm a freshman living in Nash here at Western, and don't really know anybody yet. I'd love to make some new friends though, so if you want to say hi, please do!
I'm a transfer student and new to Western and Bellingham. I don't know too many people here quite yet but I'm a fairly sociable individual and a lot of fun. Add me on Facebook or something.
I'm a junior, currently double-majoring in Industrial Design and Graphic Design. But I also love illustration, painting, sculpting, you name it. I am an all-around artist, and a fairly serious one at that. I'm very passionate about my art, and I'm loving school and classes because the world of a self-taught artist can be very lonely.
Besides art, I love to listen to music, play video games, read National Geographic and Smithsonian, and hang out with friends.
I graduated this summer but decided to stick around to complete a minor in sustainable design. As a closet hippie, with an extensive construction background, I'm hoping this last scholastic venture will make me deliriously happy about work and money.
I am a freshman at Western, possibly majoring in math with a minor in voice...don't know for sure yet though! I am from Anchorage, AK and love in here in Bellingham!
I'm a transfer student and just moved up here. I know absolutly no one. I would like to meet some new people or find ways to do so. Feel free to hit me up I'm bored out of my mind!!!
I'm Jordan. Been living in Bellingham since I could remember so if you have questions don't be afraid to ask! I enjoy snowboarding, Frolf, music of any type, dancing of any type, and of course my people. I'll be friends with whoever will return the favor =)
I am a transfer student from EvCC and 21 years old. I am hoping to get a degree in psychology, I have not declaired my major yet since this is my first year at WWU. Despite my lack of WWU campus knowledge I have knowledge on typical trends when it comes to college classes and trends generally. The real differences between community college and university are class sizes, price, not all teachers are Dr's and are more casual, and level of degrees (once you want to go beyond Associates you need to go to a university at least as far as I know, I could be wrong) I had exellent teachers even a few with PhD's and nothing less than a masters degree(which I do believe is the lowest they could be anyway).
I just got married.
I am a Ohio State buckeyes fan WHOOT!!! I am guessing that is acceptable since Vikings have no football team. However this does not mean I don't have viking pride.
I am also a HORRABLE speller so I appologize in advance. I never had the nack for it and started detesting spelling in third grade.
hey i'm from marysville,wa. livin up on the ridge as a freshmen here at western. I'm up for anything as long as its fun. I like getting new music as long as its hip hop, reggae, acid-jazz, classic rock, alternative, and anything thats not twangy country or death metal. my schedule is open all week cuz I'm takin some pretty easy classes. lets have a good time. oh and I like beerfest (the movie), cheech and chong, animal house, and all other displays of intoxication.
I'm a new transfer student, just moved here from Seattle. I'm a History Major...Wait, maybe an Anthro major...Wait, what?! Also, I really like music and my potted plant collection.
I'm a senior at Western. 21 years old and the proud mother of a bunny rabbit. My boyfriend is in the Navy and stationed in Afghanistan. We've been dating for 2 years and he will be home this November. I volunteer at a local anime convention, Sakura Con, where I am a manager. I also collect comic books and lawn gnomes.
